How often do anchor points need to be tested?
Permanent anchors are inspected at intervals of no more than 12 months under AS/NZS 1891.4, and after any fall or suspected damage.
What happens if an anchor fails?
It is tagged out of service immediately, recorded on the register with photographs, and nobody rigs from it until it is repaired and recertified.
Do you keep an anchor register?
Yes. Every certification comes with an updated register listing each anchor, its rating, its status and its next due date.
