Commercial window cleaning

High-rise window cleaning in Melbourne

We clean the glass on Melbourne’s commercial towers by rope access, building maintenance unit (BMU), elevated work platform (EWP) or water-fed pole — whichever the elevation, the plant and the weather call for.

01 / What it covers

What’s included.

Most of our window cleaning is for commercial towers, hotels, law courts, universities and retail sites where the glass has to look right every cycle and the work cannot disrupt the people inside. Tower Window Cleaning has cleaned Rialto Towers on Collins Street since 1987.

  • External window and glass cleaning on towers of any height
  • Frames, mullions, spandrels and sills cleaned with the glass
  • Atria, canopies, podiums and awnings
  • High internal glazing and feature glass
  • Scheduled programmes — monthly, quarterly or by elevation
  • A photographic record of each clean and anything we found

02 / How we work

Planned before we leave the ground.

01

Assess

We read the building first: elevations, anchors and davits, BMU condition, ground-level exclusion zones and the presentation standard you expect.

02

Plan

Scope by elevation, a site-specific SWMS, anchor-use and rescue plans, and the access method for each face of the building.

03

Clean

IRATA-qualified technicians or certified plant. Wind and weather at height are treated as hard stops, not guidelines.

04

Report

Photographs from the field, plus any broken seals, damaged glass or anchor issues, reported plainly the same day.

03 / Questions

What facilities teams ask us.

How often should a commercial building’s windows be cleaned?

Most commercial towers run external cleans quarterly or twice a year, with entries, podiums and awnings done more often. The right cycle depends on exposure, the building’s presentation standard and the access method, and we set it with you.

Rope access or BMU — which is better?

Neither is better on every building. BMUs suit long, regular elevations where the plant is certified and running; rope access suits complex shapes, setbacks and faces the BMU cannot reach. Many buildings use both, and we plan each elevation on its merits.

Do you work after hours?

Yes. Ground-level and EWP work around entries, laneways and piazzas is often scheduled after hours so it does not interrupt tenants or the public, with any permits arranged as part of the job.

Are you insured and certified?

Yes. We carry $20 million public liability insurance, our management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and our rope access technicians are IRATA qualified.
